The Charleston Jazz Orchestra is kick off its fourth season this Saturday, January 28th, with 'Symphonic Swing."

The CJO is gearing up to do big things this season, and here's what to expect from the opener:

The 2012 season is sure to be incredible, experimenting with some of the most challenging and complex pieces in the band’s history. For the first performance of the season, CJO will be performing some of the most recognizable classical music compositions, from Beethoven to Bizet. With a slightly different approach to the “classics," this program serves as a true depiction of the unparalleled talent and creativity realized in members of the CJO. All works featured in Symphonic Swing are in-house arrangements crafted by the very musicians who will perform them onstage.

There are two set options for Symphonic Swing, the first begins at 7 p.m. and the second at 10 p.m. Each set will run approximately 90 minutes without intermission. Tickets are on sale now and range from $25 - $40. Be sure and get yours today, both shows are likely to sell out!

All performances will take place at the Charleston Music Hall, located at 37 John Street.
