Sunday on King Street festival offers a holiday encore this Dec. 15

Check your calendar, it's not time for the regular Second Sunday on King Street — it's a special "Third Sunday on King Street" for the season this Sunday, December 15.

Below are more details about the pedestrian-friendly shopping, dining, and entertainment event on King Street.

And don't forget you can score free parking with these vouchers.

From a release:

The theme will be holiday shopping, family gatherings, food and music. There will be carolers in period costume, strolling bagpipes, gift and shopping promotions and delectable dining on the street.

2nd Sunday on King Street is the premiere monthly event in historic downtown Charleston when locals and visitors are invited to shop, dine and enjoy Charleston's "Main Street" on a vehicle-free, pedestrian-only afternoon from 1:00 to 5:00 PM.

At the Information Tent, guests will have an opportunity to sign a piece of Charleston history. The new Gaillard Center Foundation will host a beam signing honoring a milestone for the new state-of-the-art performance and exhibition hall, park and municipal offices. Gaillard Foundation representatives will be on hand to provide information about the project.

Now in its fourth year, 2nd Sunday on King Street is the most attended, regularly-scheduled event ever held on the Charleston Peninsula, with monthly guests numbering in the thousands. It is an opportunity for downtown Charleston shops and restaurants to extend their award-winning brand of hospitality while participating in a truly unique affair that is recognized locally, regionally and nationally.

2nd Sunday and the new December events, 3rd Sunday on King Street and 4th Sunday on King Street, are business development initiatives that support downtown Charleston's balance and livability.
