Burton man accused of shooting girlfriend in the face (update: in custody)

Update March 4: Stanley Moultrie turned himself into Chatham County Sheriff's Office on Thursday and is now back at the Beaufort County Detention Center.

First reporting February 17: The Port Royal Police Department is looking Stanley Moultrie, 29, of Burton after his girlfriend was shot in the face and called 911.

Allegedly the victim was arguing with Moultrie around 5 a.m. Monday morning when the man drew his gun and fired two shots at close range, one of which struck the woman in the mouth.

The woman then called 911 at her apartment in Oak Hill Terrace off Ribaut Road.
