S.C., Beaufort, Jasper see dip in unemployment numbers

The most recent unemployment numbers are out for South Carolina, and the state along with Beaufort and Jasper counties are continuing to see their numbers dip.

January 2011 unemployment for S.C. was 10.5%, compared with 10.9% in December 2010.

For Beaufort County, January 2011 saw 8.1% unemployment, compared with 8.7% in December 2010.

Jasper County also saw a significant dip from 11% to 9.5%.

These numbers actually are the best to start a year since back in January 2008. 2008 unemployment for S.C. was 6.1% while Beaufort and Jasper counties were at 5%.
