Eight Wando High School students involved in the robbery of a Food Lion in August 2006 will find out their punishment Tuesday. Two others were sentenced earlier this year to 10 years in prison, but it’s uncertain whether these eight will face prison time or probation, or possibly both.

From The Post and Courier:

Tuesday’s sentencing could be a protracted affair as family, friends, clergy and attorneys are expected to fill a courtroom inside the county Judicial Center. Defense lawyers likely will argue that for most of the teens, getting involved in a stickup was an anomaly.

The teens pleaded guilty late last year for their role in the Aug. 26, 2006, holdup of the Food Lion on South Morgan’s Point Road. They acted as lookouts in cars parked near the store while a classmate wearing an orange mask went inside armed with what later was determined to be a pellet gun.

The Post and Courier has photos of the teens facing sentencing: Patrick Brown, Christopher Cousins, Michael Dawley, Max Hartwell, Sam Perez, Graham Stolte, Jackie Washington and Vincent Weiner
