Yesterday we remarked about Obama polling strongly in South Carolina. We also mentioned that he’ll need a large turnout from black and young voters if he hopes to win our traditionally Republican state. Well, South Carolina voter registration shows registrations among younger and non-white voters growing at a faster than some other demographics.

In South Carolina’s primaries 18-to-24-year-olds represented 9.6 percent of registered voters, as of June 30 they represented 10 percent; nonwhite voters represented 28 percent of registered voters and on June 30 they made up 28.6 percent.
