South Carolina could be a new home for alligator farms. The Senate will debate the bill Wednesday in a committee meeting.

"The bill will allow the Department of Natural Resources to issue permits to people who might want to commercially farm alligators for the purpose of selling the meat or the hides," said Sen. Brad Hutto, D-Orangeburg.
