Relocating? Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Beaufort areas among nation's most popular

It's not a secret: South Carolina's Lowcountry is a fast growing and an ever-so popular spot to move to — but notable is just how popular all three of it's coastal community hubs are to relocate to, ranking in the top 60 spots nationwide.

Estimates released by the Census Bureau on March 27 show that the desire to migrate to the Lowcountry well exceeded the areas' natural growth rate.

The Myrtle Beach metro area ranked at number 27 with a net migration of 10,967 and a total population change of 10,730; the Charleston metro area wasn't far behind at number 31 with 10,238 arriving and a total population change of 14,723; the Hilton Head-Bluffton-Beaufort area followed at number 59 with 3,834 migrating in the year-long period for a total population change of 4,572.

Those migration number counts are more impressive than either the count or percent change for total population

With the Lowcountry on popular destination lists, and unemployment numbers dropping you better keep on baking those fruit cakes, it looks like more and more will be on their way.
