St. Patrick’s Day festival in Myrtle Beach expands to two days, organizers announce bands

The Oceanfront Merchants Association will expand its annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival from one day to two this year.

OMA Executive Director Peggy Iverson said that St. Patrick’s Day weekend brings a number of people to the beach and the association decided to offer festivities the entire weekend.

The Delta Faints, a band that describes its music as “psychedelic voodoo rock and roll,” will serve as the headliners at this year’s festival, OMA event coordinator Sherri Loomis said Monday.

Other bands performing, beginning at noon March 14, include Dino Capone’s School of Rock, The Reggie Sullivan Band, the Paul Grimshaw Band, A Nickel Bag of Funk and Honor By August. The Delta Faints are expected to perform between 8 and 8:30 p.m.
