Springmaid Beach Resort has been sold to a Los Angeles-based investment partnership, according to a news release.

The release said the resort was sold to an affiliate of Integrated Capital LLC and its partner, KBS Strategic Opportunity REIT II.

The resort, which opened in 1948 as a private getaway for employees of Springs Industries, includes a 500-room hotel, conference center, camping facility and pier.

It opened to the public in 1953.
