Longtime Davie County (NC) High football head coach Doug Illing has resigned his post to take the same job at Socastee High, according to a report in the Winston-Salem Journal.

The report said Illing, 49, was offered the job Thursday and told his players about the move Friday. Illing is expected to formally introduced Monday as the Braves head football coach.
