Pawleys Island woman taken for evaluation after police said she stopped school bus

A Pawleys Island woman was taken into police custody, but not charged after she stopped a Georgetown County school bus, boarded the bus and became disorderly, authorities said.

The 29-year-old woman was taken into custody and taken to a local hospital for an evaluation after the incident that occurred about 9 a.m. Wednesday, said Carrie Cuthbertson, spokeswoman for the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver and a female student were riding on the bus on their way to Waccamaw High School when the woman flagged the bus down on the South Causeway, Cuthbertson said. The woman got on the bus, became disorderly but did not endanger the student.
