Organizers defend Mustang Week after YouTube video shows crash ending

Event organizers for Myrtle Beach Mustang Week are upset by videos hitting Facebook and YouTube showing reckless driving.

I drove by the event while some drag racing was going on. I was very surprised at what I was seeing on a busy Highway 17, in the middle of July while cars and cars of lost, rubber necking tourists drove along. At the time I drove past, the road was a scribble of tire tracks, showing the evidence of out of control cars, fast stopping and quick acceleration.

If one groups drag racing and reckless driving is "thug behaviour" and unacceptable in a "family beach", why isn't the others?

Perhaps closing the back road around the Myrtle Beach Mall would be a better solution than allowing the highway 17 show?

Check out the video above.
