North Myrtle Beach wins Google's eCity Award for South Carolina

Google announced Tuesday that North Myrtle Beach has won their 2013 eCity Award for South Carolina, the award recognize the strongest online business community in each state. The celebration was held at the Sunrise Pancake House this morning, Tuesday, August 20th at 10:00am. 

CarolinaLive.com quotes  Scott Levitan, Google's director of small-business engagement, regarding the award: 

"Our 'e-City Awards' recognize the new 'digital capitals' of America [...] We're proud to recognize this growing entrepreneurial-spirit-and the role that it plays in both creating jobs and sustaining local economies. With 97-percent of Internet-users looking for products and services online, it's clear that success is about being connected."

The award is determined by Google and independent research firm Ipsos MORI analyzed the online strength of local small businesses in cities in all fifty states. The city with the highest scores in each state was designated a 2013 Google eCity.
