Myrtle Beach opens registration for Military Appreciation Days parade

Myrtle Beach is preparing for what the city is calling its “busiest” Military Appreciation Days events yet.

Festivities kick off this May with a new event honoring Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans on May 2. Other events include educational exhibits, such as the Agent Orange Quilt of Tears, from May 14 to 16; the Ocean Boulevard parade and family picnic on May 16; a couple of golf tournaments and a dinner dance.

Registration for the parade has begun, with military groups, animal groups, businesses and politicians all invited to participate.
