More details released in fatal crash involving N.C. church van near Loris

Troopers continued Wednesday to investigate a fatal crash involving a church van from North Carolina in the Loris area, according to authorities.

The crash happened about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on S.C. 9 at Secondary Highway 747 just outside of Loris, said Lance Cpl. Judd Jones with the S.C. Highway Patrol.

A 1996 church van from Nakina, N.C., driven by Marion McLamb, 51, was traveling along Secondary Highway 747 when it went through the stop sign and was struck by a 1993 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Tracy Brown, 44, Jones said.

There were three other passengers in the van and two other passengers in the pickup truck, Jones said.
