A passenger on a mo-ped was died Thursday, a day after being involved in a vehicle crash in Horry County, according to authorities.

The crash occurred about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday along S.C. 9, said Lance Cpl. Judd Jones with the S.C. Highway Patrol.

A 2007 Toyota driven by a 47-year-old woman was going north when it struck the rear of the 2014 VIP mo-ped, which was also going north on S.C. 9, Jones said. The mo-ped was driven by a 51-year-old man, who was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
