A man was charged with kidnapping, first-degree burglary, and two counts of third-degree assault and battery after he broke through a Myrtle Beach woman’s living room window and attempted to drag her from her home.

Steven Simmons, 44, was arrested by Myrtle Beach police on Wednesday in connection with the incident, which occurred on Monday, according to arrest warrants.

Police were called about 7 p.m. Monday to the 300 block of 10th Avenue South where a 36-year-old woman said Simmons broke through the front living room window and climbed through it while she was watching television, authorities said.
