Loaded gun, knife seized and passenger arrested at Myrtle Beach International Airport

Security workers at the Myrtle Beach International Airport found a loaded handgun and a knife in the carry-on bag of a passenger Thursday, according to the Transportation Security Administration.

The TSA worker alerted airport police about 10:45 a.m. when the load .38-caliber gun and the knife was found, and police took possession of the bag and arrested the passenger, TSA officials said in a release.

It is the first firearm found this year at the Myrtle Beach International Airport, officials said. Last year three were found at the checkpoint.
