Investigation continues into fatal crash involving Coastal Carolina University student

The investigation into the death of an 18-year-old Coastal Carolina University student remains under investigation, Conway police Lt. Selena Small said Wednesday morning.

Cameron Baer, 18, from Dallastown, Pa., was pronounced dead from injuries he suffered after he was struck by a vehicle about 5 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 501 at University Boulevard, Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden said.

On Wednesday, Small said the crash remains under investigation and no charges had been filed.

At the time of the crash, Small said Baer was a pedestrian walking across the street when he was struck by the vehicle, and the driver remained at the scene and called police to report the crash.
