Horry County police investigate business robbery, may be linked to Georgetown County robberies

Horry County police are now searching for information about a man who may be involved in at least three robberies of restaurants in the area recently.

Officers were called about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday to Five Guys Burgers and Fries at 804 Inlet Square Drive in Murrells Inlet for an armed robbery, according to a police report.

The man went into the restaurant through an unlocked back door and took cash at gunpoint from the register, according to the report.

“It is believed this may be the same person who robbed the Lucky Panda restaurant and other businesses in Georgetown in the recent past,” Horry County police Lt. Raul Denis said. “It is significant that he entered every business through the back door.”
