Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office employees recently were honored for their outstanding performance in 2014.

Lloyd McCrea was named Correctional Officer of the Year. McCrea has been with the Georgetown County Detention Center for 15 years and is a Field Training Officer on his shift. Qualities attributed to McCrea by his fellow officers were a great attitude, extreme dedication and a joy to work with.

Telecommunicator of the Year was awarded to Ted Felder, who has been with the sheriff’s office for 10 years. He is described by his fellow employees as very dependable, compassionate and a hard worker. He has dedicated his life to helping others, and fellow employees say his calming voice at the dispatch center benefits the public and first responders.
