Carolina Forest boys basketball hits stride in rout of Socastee

Brian Brunson was distraught after his team lost an overtime game to West Florence to launch region play.

He certainly isn’t celebrating now that his team has won two in a row.

But if Carolina Forest’s 54-37 victory over Socastee Tuesday proved anything, it is that the Panthers are getting to a point where fine-tuning isn’t out of the question. Playing relatively conservatively to reduce turnovers and getting another solid performance from sophomore Duane Moss was enough to put away the Braves.

“We did that in the Conway game,” Brunson said, mentioning his team’s Friday win. “We had a couple of things we had to focus on. We did that, and it put us in a position at the end of the game.
