The YarnBombers are back in downtown Conway for a limited engagement

An art installation of hand-knitted and crochet crafted animals and creations will sweep downtown Conway, SC from April 27th through June 1st. This public art project is free and open to the public.

A public art project organized by CREATE! ConwayYarn Zoo will delight area residents and visitors of all ages. Ten area fiber artists will install colorful handcrafted crochet and knit coverings for railings, benches, bicycle stands and trash receptacles. The artists have created a collection of crocheted butterflies, birds, animals, flowers and critters for the yarn bombs.

To kick off the month long installation, a Kinder Garden will be held on Saturday, May 4th, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m during the Rivertown Art & Music Festival. This Children's Public Art Project invites children of all ages to plant handcrafted crochet flowers, creating an instant temporary flower garden in downtown Conway. Children and parents are also invited to visit downtown Conway all month long and post pictures of their favorite Yarn Zoo art to CREATE! Conway’s Facebook Page. Each week a random winner will receive a CREATE! Conway Yarn Zoo Gift Pack that includes a Yarn Zoo t-shirt and gift certificates from downtown merchants.
