"Penelope".

Charleston-based hotel family "Charming Inns"  has been reworking each of their inns’ websites over the past few months (why thank you, Blue Ion friends) and our fourth and final site for the Fulton Lane Inn launched just last week and now we’re ready to start up our next round of fun.

To celebrate we are introducing "Penelope", our resident pineapple — along with a chance to win a free night's stay at one of our properties.

Most people are used to seeing her in black and white on our Charming Inns logo, but she has sprung to life and is hitting the streets for a five-week Charleston vacation. Starting Monday, September 10th, Penelope the Pineapple will be spending some time at each of our inns and doing some sightseeing as well. She has a backstage pass to some of Charleston’s most intriguing places and will be sharing her travels via blog and Facebook.

Here’s the clincher, though she’ll be seeing some cool spots around town, it’s up to you to guess exactly where she is each week. Every Monday through October 8th, Penelope will post a photo to the blog and Facebook along with some clues about her location. You’ll have until that Wednesday to guess where she is. Guess Penelope’s location correctly each time, and you’ll be entered into a drawing to win a special overnight package for two at our Fulton Lane Inn on King Street. The package also includes dinner to our Circa 1886 Restaurant (with wine pairings) and a tour through the city from Bulldog Tours.

Here's a chance to get reacquainted with your city. In preparation, be sure to take some extra long walks downtown and jog some of your best memories of Charleston life. Penelope’s first vacation photo will be posted on Monday at 10am. Even if you can’t get her location right every time, there will still be plenty of specials and giveaways along the trip.
