Families of eight of the nine firefighters killed during the Sofa Super Store fire last year have reached a partial settlement for more than $5.6 million.

The settlement covers 14 of the 32 defending companies, and the $5.6 million figure accounts for only 12 of the 14 settling companies. -- Does your head hurt yet?

The settled portion includes suits about the fire doors, and warnings about the highly flammable polyurethane foam in many couches.
