Pop the bubbly: Here's a roundup of election day's winners - and not-so winners

In all, voting was quite light around the area as the race's lacked big-name candidates for national seats.

The real heat of the day was in the City of Charleston's council races. There's a runoff in store, and incumbents faced a mixed bag at the poll. Most notably in district two where five-term councilwoman Yvonne Evans narrowly lost her re-election bid. Here's some video on that race.

Over in Mount Pleasant Billy Swails is Mount Pleasant's new mayor -- nabbing some 45% of the vote in a three-way race. -- The Post and Courier has a nice roundup and reaction to that race.

The paper also has details on which four of the 19 council candidates won.

Ravenel also saw some heat in its council race, where one challenger didn't land a seat.

Isle of Palms re-elected their relatively new mayor, and four council seats.

Moncks Corner residents will be able to toast on Sundays more easily now that its voters approved Sunday alcohol sales. There's also a runoff forthcoming in the council race.

By a hair, Awendaw has a new mayor in its first-ever contested mayoral race -- and it was a pretty close one. ABC News 4 has some video from the race.

Seabrook ousted two incumbents and elected two new members to its council.

And Rockville's no-contest election managed to fill all four council seats and even a mayoral one.
