Former Charleston TV anchor tells shocking tale of cocaine use, reaching bottom

We're late in coming to this one, but I suspect many of you have either not yet heard of it or haven't yet seen The Charlotte Observer's piece, so I think it's worth plugging.

But, after two decades as a voice and sometimes face of local media (including time as a News 2 co-anchor) Jon Robinson is no near rock bottom as his dark side has nearly consumed him.

Speaking of his double life to the Observer, Robinson said: "I was lying the whole time and the crazy thing is people loved me for it. What I really wanted to say is, 'I shot heroin last night and smoked crack and watched eight hours of pornos. I'm a fraud."

A shocking contrast for certain.

The Observer's story is quite well done yet very raw and details Robinson's tenure and sudden departure from Charleston, you can read it over here.

The Post and Courier has followed on it and offers more Charleston detail, but I found the Observer's piece to be all around much better if missing a few Charleston details; read that one here.
