Last of Wando students sentenced

The tenth and final former Wando High School student to plead guilty in a 2006 Food Lion holdup, Sam Perez, learned his punishment Tuesday. He received the same sentence that seven of his fellow defendants got last month: up to six years in prison or the option of shock incarceration.

ABC News has the story on Sam Perez:

Sam Perez faced Judge Dennis at 9:00 a.m. this morning on charges of armed robbery and accessory and accessory after the fact of a felony. Perez received the same sentence as the seven other Wando High School students, six years with an option of shock incarceration.

The Post and Courier also had this to say on Perez' sentencing:

Because of scheduling, Perez's case was handled by Circuit Judge Markley Dennis, who imposed the sentence Tuesday at the Charleston County Judicial Center.

Perez, a one-time Wando football player, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit armed robbery and accessory after the fact of armed robbery.
