Armed robberies on the rise

This year has seen a rise in armed robberies in Charleston County, and those robberies have become more violent, according to officials. So far, this year has seen 15 more armed robberies than at the same time last year, the Charleston County Sheriff's Office shows.

From ABC News 4:

"Within the last three or four months, we’ve seen trends that deal more with the violence on the part of the defendants, the aggressive nature," said Charleston County’s Magistrate Judge, Honorable James B. Gosnell, Jr.

...

With these aggressive tactics, Judge Gosnell says it’s only a matter of time before it gets worse.

"Unfortunately somebody's going to get killed, it's going to happen, it's going to happen," said Gosnell.
