Slade Heathcott, 20, is a center fielder for the RiverDogs and a hot Yankees prospect. But he didn't always have it so good.

Heathcott was a tormented, troubled teenager, and he faced a myriad of difficulties through his childhood. He was sent to an AA program in April 2010 by the New York Yankees. And he has worked to overcome his past problems; he's now sober,  and is looking forward to what promises to be a bright future.

The Post and Courier has an amazing, in-depth look at Heathcott's journey; read it here.
