Last week Clemson's football team broke into the top 10 standings, and Saturday night the team will go up against Florida — they'll also be facing a bit off-the-cuff remarks after a mild controversy surfaced over the ticketing of the team's head coach.

On September 3, Pickens police officer Michael McClatchy pulled over a truck going 63 mph in a 35 mph zone, and driving that truck was Clemson University head football coach Dabo Swinney.

McClatchty issued a reduced ticket fror the 27 mph infraction.

On Monday, that officer was fired. In a press release issued Friday, police chief Rodney Gregory said that was attributable to McClatchy's posting of the incident on a sports messaging board with department computer equipment.
