Dock Street Theatre renovations finished; We've got photos to tide you over until the public opening

On Friday afternoon, Mayor Joseph P. Riley Jr. lead the news media on a tour of the recently restored Dock Street Theatre.

After 32 months of meticulous work by local skilled artisans and craftsmen (and $19 million dollars), the treasured venue for the arts is once again ready to wow the masses with its beauty and elegance. Touting architectural and technical upgrades around every corner, the Dock Street Theater's ambiance and appearance has remained largely intact since 1736.

Freelance photograph Chrys Rynearson was on hand to help us out yesterday and captured some stunning photographs during the tour, check those out up top or on Flickr.

There's loads more coverage on the reopening or the theater. They're all listed below, but I'll suggest The Post and Courier's story for more depth.

A public reopening ceremony is slated for Thursday, March 18, at 7 p.m. The theater is at 135 Church Street.
