Poogan’s Porch Announces 2nd Annual Pig Roast & Bourbon Sip

The Second Annual Pig Roast & Bourbon Sip, hosted by Poogan’s Porch, will be held Sunday, November 11th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the courtyard behind Poogan’s Porch (located at 72 Queen Street downtown). The event will feature live music, bourbon tastings, an array of southern barbeque favorites and an oyster shuckin’ area.

Proceeds from the event will benefit The Lowcountry Food Bank. The Food Bank serves ten coastal counties of South Carolina by educating the public about the risks and solutions to domestic hunger and distributing healthy food and grocery products to nonprofit agencies serving those in need.

“We are very excited to have the opportunity to offer this event for a second year and raise much needed and deserved funds for the Lowcountry Food Bank, an organization that plays such an integral part in serving our community,” says Brad Ball, Managing Partner at Poogan’s Porch.

The menu will celebrate tastes of the season, offering a feast of southern classics from fresh oysters to pulled pork and barbeque chicken. The menu will also include Poogan’s Porch favorites, including its buttermilk biscuits and macaroni & cheese. Wine will be provided by La Wine Agency, Virgil Kaine will offer bourbon pours and Palmetto Brewery will provide beer.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door; tickets include entrance as well as all food and drink. Advance tickets may be purchased at www.lowcountryfoodbank.org. Guests are asked to enter the courtyard via the pathway through the parking lot next to Poogan’s Porch.
