Local Non-profit in need of housing!

Ironically, a program originally established to keep women off the streets, finds itself without a roof over its head as of Oct. 31. The current facility has been sold, forcing the 12 tenants to find new residency. Contact 843-284-3378 if you know of an available large housing facility.

Coffee Cave is partnering with Rahab’s House and Holly Paul, a Premier Jewelry consultant, to hold a fundraiser on Saturday October 13 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm called “Java and Jewelry.” During the Open House, jewelry will be on display. Locals wishing to support this ministry may stop by the Coffee Cave located at 1744 Highway 501 in Myrtle Beach to browse through a catalog and place an order any time between Oct. 1- Oct. 13.

A little about Rahab’s House:
Located in Myrtle Beach, Rahab’s House is a non-profit Christian-based corporation, organized for charitable, public, and educational purposes. The one year program trains women to move from crisis situations to independent living.

Their mission is to empower and equip women to take control of their lives through this personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Due to previous destructive behaviors, these ladies have recently experienced some type of traumatic life change. Struggles range from incarceration, abusive relationships, homelessness, or rehab discharge. Often the women have lost everything from jobs, homes, and family relationships.  Some even have unresolved legal situations.

The program includes: counseling, life skills education, career development, parenting classes, employment, spiritual development, anger management, social and cultural development, Bible studies, a 12-step program, prayer and worship services, special presentations, community service projects, house responsibilities, exercise classes, and fundraisers.

This is not a shelter, or just a place to stay. Prior to acceptance, every applicant must make sure this is the program for her. Every applicant must be ready to turn away from a destructive lifestyle, and begin anew... no matter what the cost.

Program Scripture: Romans 12:2
And therefore, do not be conformed to the things of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

From the inception, Rahab’s House has partnered with community churches, medical facilities, educational institutions, and other faith-based organizations to provide services for these ladies. Rahab’s House is supported and staffed 100% by volunteers. Without the generosity of the local community, the program would not, and will not, continue to exist.
