Hendrick Automotive Group® to Host SEWE Marrow Registry Drive

Public invited to join the Be The Match Foundation Registry® at the 2011 Southeastern Wildlife Exposition

The Hendrick Marrow Program, in partnership with the Be The Match Foundation®, will be sponsoring a Be The Match Registry® drive Saturday, February 19th from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at Southeastern Wildlife Exposition in the Hendrick Automotive Group® tent in Marion Square.

Joining the registry is easy; it involves a quick 10-15 minute questionnaire and cheek swab.  Every member added to the registry increases the chances that more patients in need of a marrow transplant meet their match.

The Hendrick Marrow Program helps patients waiting to find a marrow match, offering them a second chance at life. Since 1997, the foundation has raised more than $8 million dollars, added more than 90,000 members to the Be The Match Registry®, and eased the financial burden of more than 4,000 patients with grants from the Hendrick Family Fund for Patient Assistance. The Hendrick Marrow Program works with Be The Match Foundation® to support the work of the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP). Funds raised add more potential marrow donors to the NMDP's Be The Match Registry®, increasing the chances that more patients find their match. It also helps patients pay for some uninsured transplant costs, which can often hinder treatment efforts.

Come join us at the 2011 Southeastern Wildlife Exposition Saturday, February 19th, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. and please register. You will not only be assisting us in our effort to help those who need it, you’ll be enriching your own life in the process. We’ll see you there!
