Hampden Hosts Rag & Bone to Celebrate Store’s 5th Anniversary • New York Designers Travel South to Fete Hampden During a Two-Day Fashion Event •

January 18, 2012 (Charleston, SC) – Hampden has been open 5 years and owner Stacy Smallwood has plans to celebrate with her top brand in high style.  Charleston will play host to rag & bone’s iconic design duo, Marcus Wainwright & David Neville, with a day of private shopping, a bluegrass & barbecue party, and presentation of the line’s spring 2012 women’s & men’s collections.  “Being from England, we haven’t had the opportunity to experience the South in a big way.  We are looking forward to connecting with our customers and the city of Charleston,” explains Wainwright.

Other notable faces in fashion from the north and south will convene in the lowcountry for this two-day fashion extravaganza.   “We want to give our customers an experience they won’t forget to commemorate our 5th year in business – what better way than a runway show by one of the industry’s most coveted design houses,” adds Smallwood.

The spring collection will make its runway debut in Charleston on Friday, March 30th at Westbrook Brewery.  With barrels of beer as the backdrop, guests will experience a runway presentation and private shopping with the designers.  The collection is marked by an invigoratingly bold color palette - electric turquoise, neon orange, navy, yellow, and perennial spring favorite, white. rag & bone’s signature clean-lined tailoring is a constant throughout.  A portion of ticket sales will benefit the Art of Elysium – a national organization that offers a creative outlet to children who are in long-term hospital care.

For a select group of shoppers, media and style setters, Smallwood will host a private event at her family’s beachfront home to welcome the designers complete with sweet tea vodkas, a lowcountry boil, barbecue and bluegrass music. “Having been with us since the beginning, and being our first vendor in Charleston, Stacy Smallwood was integral in introducing rag & bone to the South,” says Neville.  Let the celebration ensue!
