It only takes one time throwing trash into the ocean or onto the beach to harm our precious sea life. Taking the extra step to ensure our trash is properly disposed of can make a world of difference. Joining together to keep our beaches clean is beneficial to us and the sea life for generations to come.

For the past 25 years, the Surfrider Grand Strand chapter has been working to educate the Grand Strand on the importance of proper disposal of trash. The volunteers are working in Horry and Georgetown counties from the Grand Strand into Little River and on to Pawleys Island. They have been working diligently to keep our beaches and waves clean.

 Surfrider got their start because of three people in Malibu, California, whose favorite wave was on the verge of destruction. Just by working together these three individuals were able to save their wave. The mission of the foundation is the protection and enjoyment of oceans, waves, and beaches through a powerful activist network.
