Celebrate Lumber River Day on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the Lumber River State Park

2nd Annual Celebrate Lumber River Day – Saturday, July 16, 2011

 

Lumberton, NC - On Saturday, July 16, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, the 2nd Annual Celebrate Lumber River Day will be held at the Lumber River State Park, 2819 Princess Ann Road in Orrum. The day’s events includes canoe/boat rides, display booths, exhibits, fancy dancers, tractor parade, dulcimer lessons, local artists at work, horseshoes, kids wet t-shirt races, kids fishing contest, casting contest, face painting, free prizes, giveaways, and more.

The Lumbee Ambassadors will be present to welcome everyone and take part in the opening ceremonies that begin at 10 AM.  Senator Michael Walters will offer comments, as will Representatives G.L. Pridgen and Charles Graham.  Golden Corral, Buffet & Catering of Lumberton will provide food and drinks for those attending.
