John Stango juxtaposes iconic subject matter using a variety of techniques that gives each piece of original art a distinctive narrative. Stango has expanded upon his creativity since his academic training at Tyler School of Art at Temple University by combining his passion for graphic art with painting in an explosion of color and textured brushstrokes that has made his work recognizable across the country. “Stango delivers art as it should be, a whimsical journey of sublime joy and happiness,” reflects client Angelique Cuttingham, owner of rosita jones studio.

Stango channels American Pop Artists that came before him, combining glamour with wittiness and consumerism with refined style, but his patriotic voice sets him apart. “Viewers can expect a feeling of nostalgia mixed with elation from his art,” professes SCOOP studios Co-Owner, Colleen Deihl. “This is our second solo show with John Stango thanks to a warm and hospitable reception last year from clients and visitors. Viewers will see large paintings with familiar icons including athletes, musicians, movie stars and comic book heroes, sometimes on the same canvas,” explains Deihl. “Americana” refers to artifacts or a collection of artifacts, related to the history, geography, folklore and cultural heritage of the United States.
