Daniel Island resident Bill Stevens, Senate leader Glenn McConnell and Rep. Jim Merrill, former House majority leader are working to change a South Carolina law that has been in place since the 1700s.
McConnell and Merrill have introduced several bills to modernize the state's anti-gaming law -- six to be exact. To no real surprise, their attempts are being met by worried legislators who feel that change will open the door to professional betting and the return of video poker.
