Joe Wilson, other House reps from S.C. worked to block airport body scans

This one's a bit of political footnote as the bill was never considered by the U.S. Senate, but three of South Carolina's Republican reps to the U.S. House worked to block widespread use of full body scans that may have proved useful in catching December's terror attempt.

In fact our legendary Rep. Joe Wilson co-sponsored the bill, and Henry Brown and Bob Inglis supported it. Democrats John Spratt and Jim Clyburn, along with Republican Gresham Barrett, voted against it. The State has more details.

It's interesting that South Carolina's Republicans were against the scans and the Democrats for, I would have expected the opposite.
