Good news for the unemployed, help is on the way (updated x2)

State lawmakers will reconvene for a two-day session to discuss the proposed law change that would allow eligible residents to draw an additional five months of unemployment checks.

Update October 21:

The Post and Courier reports that top South Carolina officials had plenty to talk about during Tuesday afternoon's forum called to address unemployment problems facing the state.

Speakers focused their attention and efforts on reforming the state's existing unemployment benefits system that, as one lawmaker put it, "seems (to have made) unemployment a lifestyle."


Update October 29:

The Post and Courier reports that the South Carolina Legislature fixed an oversight yesterday that will send tens of millions of dollars to unemployed workers.
