Collins gathers enough sigs to run for Summerville Senate seat

Bill Collins Bill Collins, former editor/publisher/owner of the Summerville Journal Scene, has gathered enough signatures to be on the ballot in November to try and take S.C. Senate seat for District 38 (in Summerville) away from the Republicans.

Collins needed 3,165 signatures (5 percent of the registered voters in the district) to get on the ballot by July 15. He announced his intentions to run a little less than a month ago.

Collins will run against Mike Rose, who has called petition candidates "fundamentally unfair."
