With $210 million surplus, an education funding battle brews between Haley, S.C. Legislature

Perhaps you heard about the good news that South Carolina's economy projection ticked up and $210 million was added to the state revenue forecast?

Perhaps you also heard that lawmakers want to use that to lessen the unemployment tax burden and restore some K-12 school funding?

Well, Gov. Nikki Haley isn't liking the idea and is threatening to veto the increased school funding (which even after the boost would still be a quarter below 2008 levels) and any other "non-core"  function of state government.
