Meeting to discuss commuter rail in Charleston

The Charleston Green Committee will hear Charleston Mayor Joe Riley's thoughts about the viability of commuter rail for Charleston.

The meeting will be at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 626 Savannah Highway, on Tuesday, September 9, at 8 a.m.

Here's a bit about the group's purpose from the city:
Review and utilize Charleston’s greenhouse gas inventory to provide policy recommendations to exceed the City’s target goal of reducing the City’s greenhouse gas emissions by 7% from its 1990 levels by the year 2012 with a goal based upon specific emission targets to be aligned with the Charleston Green Committee’s proposed Plan for Climate Protection and Sustainability.
