Pedestrian and bike lane around Hampton Park gets approval

After three meetings and still-polarized positions, the Charleston City Council voted 8-4 to approve the Hampton Park bike and pedestrian lanes.

Some council members are concerned that the designated lanes will create a reckless attitude by frustrated motorisits or speed training cyclists — to be sure, a behavorial problem and not a problem with the rules.
