After proposing to spend some $5 million on an 8-acre swatch of land in downtown Hollywood, debate is back about how the Charleston County Greenbelt Program is buying land.

Meanwhile, those targeted by criticism say it's also not fair when the county buys rights to vast tracts of rural land that would probably never be developed, and the land still remains in private hands.

There are problems on both sides for sure.

The Post and Courier's article on the issue is well worth a read; do so over here.

The paper also has a nice graphic of all the recent land deals.
