In the same election cycle where we're hearing of record cash being spent on South Carolina races, another race for a national office has drawn a paltry sum: The U.S. Senate seat currently held by Jim DeMint.

In fact DeMint's opponent hasn't been able to muster more than a short press release.

That's a matter noted in this Associated Press report.

Also of note is that the sure-thing race for DeMint has not only allowed him to not worry about his more controversial actions, but has also allowed him to spend his war chest in other states.

Crazy.
