Proposed recycling bill could bring jobs to Myrtle Beach

The proposed recycling bill, introduced by Senators Cleary, Sheheen, Lourie and Ford, would make it mandatory for restaurants with liquor licenses to recycle their glass bottles, potentially bringing jobs to the area.

The bill, S. 461 was passed by the Senate this past June and is now with the Committee on Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs at the House of Representatives.  A vote for the bill will be taken up after the session begins on January 11, 2012.

The bill might be additional work for some restaurants but could be a boon for the state in more ways than one. Head on over to Myrtle Beach Restaurant News for their write-up, and read all about the jobs and tourism this bill could help bring in.
